Happy Friday everyone! Today is another challenge day over at Paper Therapy. This week's challenge was to use a sketch. Any sketch. Pick a sketch and go with it! A magazine, a sketch site, your own sketch...whatever your little heart desires! :) This is the sketch I used. It's from the "Go to Sketches" magazine by Paper Crafts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this magazine and find myself turning to it very often!

And here's the card I made. My father in law's birthday was last week and since we're seeing him this weekend, it was time I made his card! Haha! Now I need to get my butt to the store and get a gift card to put in it! I love him and all, but he's NOT getting the Starbuck's giftcard I used for size! ;)

Another Challenge

Wow! To say that I have been a bad blogger would be an understatement! I even have to admit that I've been a bad crafter! Life has just been really hectic lately. Between friends and family having babies, vacation, and an unexpected death of one of my husband's friends has just been..WOW! It was nice to get back to the grind this week though! Today marks another challenge at Paper Therapy. Since July is fast approaching (WHAT?!? Already?!?!), this week's challenge was to use red, white, and blue in your project. This is actually a double duty challenge!! The Card of the Month challenge at Paper Therapy uses the same theme!! Even more motivation to work on this one, right?!?!? Anyway, here's the card I made.

Ok, well, I hope everyone has a fantastic day! It seems like it took Friday FOREVER to get here this week!! Tomorrow is going to be a crazy day. Dave and I will be running a Mudathlon. It's a 3 mile obstacle course in the mud. I'm still not too sure how I feel about this, but it should be fun. And there's a free beer and burger at the end... :)

Woo-hoo!! So excited for the long weekend!! I'm ready for grilling out, time with family, and just a little bit of relaxing!! Today starts another challenge at Paper Therapy. This week's challenge is an ad challenge. There is no specific ad...go find one that inspires you and create something from it. You can use the colors, the layout, whatever gets the mojo flowing!! Here's the ad I used....

I had another ad in mind when I originally started this challenge, but I'll admit...I waited too long and there just wasn't enough time to work with it. Hopefully soon tho! Anyway, pick your ad, get creating and have your project in our challenge gallery by June 8th! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Oops!!! Bad blogger...

Well crap! I'm such a bad blogger! I was supposed to have this post up on FRIDAY!!! Oops! I'm going to blame the nice weather we've been having and hope everyone forgives me!! Anyway, Friday started a new challenge on Paper Therapy! It was a color challenge. Bright yellow (Daffodil Delight), hot pink (Melon Mambo), bright blue (Pacific Point), and a neutral were the colors to use. I thought they were really fun color for a cheery, Summer is almost here kind of card! Here's what I came up with!

I've been up to my ears in baby projects lately! I have 3 good friends and a sister that are all pregnant and due in the next few weeks! I'm trying to get all the baby stuff done for them! I've got one and a half more projects to go and then hopefully I'll get a chance to post the stuff on here! Hope everyone enjoyed last week's great weather! Looks like Mother Nature is setting us up for another week of cooler temps and rain! BOOOO!!!! I'm ready for summer!!

With Mother's Day coming up, I decided to make a card for my mom! I really like the way this one turned out! I got to play with some fun new paper and the fun new stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink!

Happy Friday everyone!! So excited for today! Not only is today the first challenge with the new Design Team at Paper Therapy, but from noon today until 2:00 on Sunday I get to spend the weekend scrapping with my favorite sister and my friend Kris! Woo-hoo!!! So excited! Much needed girly time!! :) (And I get to go to my sister's baby doctor appointment! Yay for the lil' girl coming in July!!) Ok, moving right along! ;) The challenge this week was to use a basket for inspiration. Your project could feature a basket on it or just use something "basket-ish"...whatever worked for you! I chose to use a basket on my card.

This lil' bunny was just too cute so I gave him a basket of "eggs" to carry! Anyway, I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I know I will! Hopefully I'll have lots to share next week!!

A few cards

Here are some cards that I have made recently. I used this one for a Spring card swap. I really like the way it turned out! I heat embossed and used the "resist" technique to color in the green. First time I've ever done that. Super easy!!

I always struggle with male birthday cards. I'm ok if it's a kid, but get into adults and ugh! It's just hard for me!! Can't really use cute dinosaurs on a card for someone much older than 10, huh? Anyway, here's what I came up with. I like it! It was fun to do all the distressing and making it look all grungy!
I need to spend some more time on YouTube researching Tim Holtz! I think I can definitely get into his grungy style!

Happy Saturday! Hubs is out of town this weekend, so it's just me and the lil man. Hopefully that means lots of movies, junk food, wine (only for me, of course!!) and scrappy time! Here's a layout I did last night for Get Your Sketch On using sketch #13. I'm not thrilled with it...I feel like it's missing something...but that happens to me a lot with "holiday" layouts. I'm not a big fan of scrapping holidays. I MUCH prefer the everyday things. But oh well...it's another one done and one more closer to being caught up (whatever the heck THAT is!!) ;)

Operation Write Home

I have been inspired by some of my Paper Therapy friends to start making some cards for Operation Write Home. I had never heard of OWH before, but what a super cool thing! You make cards, send them to the "shipper" and the shipper send the cards overseas so the deployed heroes can send handmade greetings back to their loved ones! So super awesome! And since I was making a card for mom's bestie's hubs who's retiring from the Army, I figured I'd make a few more! :)

These cards aren't ones that the heroes will send back...these are "any hero" cards...cards with words of encouragement for those fighting for us! Again, super awesome! My goal is to make an extra card or two every time I sit down to scrap and once I get enough, send a box to the shipper! Check it out...OWH...it's a super cool thing! And what a great way to give back to those that risk their lives every day for our freedom!!

Happy Monday! Today is the last challenge for the current Design Team at Paper Therapy. It has been a great experience! I feel like I have learned so much, met so many great people, and have come quite a ways in my card making! I can't wait to continue on for another term! :) There will be a few changes (Friday challenges instead of Mondays...and they will be posted every 2 weeks instead of every week)

Today's challenge was to use a bug on your project. There are so many cute lil bugs out there...stamps, die cuts...I can't wait to see what you guys come up with! Here's my card...just a quick 4x4 card that can be used for any occasion! :)

I got my inspiration from a sketch over at UmWowStudio. DeeDee has some cute sketches! You should go check it out!! There is even a chance to win a super cool prize!!

Hey everyone! Ugh! What an exhausting weekend! A slow draining, leaky sink turned into a major weekend project!! But the problem is fixed and all that is left now is clean up! It's a good thing I had my project for this week's Paper Therapy challenge done ahead of time!! This week's challenge was a color challenge. If you don't have these exact colors, just use something close.

Here's the card I came up with. I actually really like it...and I like that there's no sentiment so I can use it for whatever come up!

For this one, you were required to use the color green, have some sort of Irish/St. Patty's Day die cut, and use ribbon. Fun stuff!! And there's even a great prize for these challenges. Wow, another post! So unusual for me! Hahaha! This time I have a layout that was inspired by a Sketchy Thursday sketch. I always look at their sketches and even use them sometimes, but I have never completed one on time for it to be submitted! Hopefully getting them done on time will be a reoccurring trend! Here's the sketch.

And here's what I came up with!

As you can see, I tend to keep pretty true to the sketches. That's something I'm going to start working on...eventually! ;)

Happy Monday! This week's challenge at Paper Therapy was to create a monochromatic project. Ugh..I'm not very good at this...it definitely took me outside of my comfort zone...but I'm pretty happy with the results! :)

I even had a little "help" this week with my card! Notice the dark spots in the middle of the hearts?? Yep, those were the added touches of Justin! ;) I had my stuff set up on the kitchen table and was working on this and another project. I left the room to go grab some adhesive and came back to Justin standing at the table. He said he was "just trying to help" and "dropped" the inky q-tip. Eh, oh well. It adds character, right?!? Handmade isn't meant to be perfect!

So what can you make that's monochromatic?? Since this is the first Monday of the month, the winner of this week's challenge gets a prize!!! Woo-hoo!! Have your project loaded into the challenge forum by Saturday at midnight. Can't wait to see what you come up with! :)

Just some more random stuff

Here's a few more random projects that I've worked on recently.

This one was for the Card of the Month Challenge at Paper Therapy. The only requirement was that you had to use green somewhere on your card. I used a sketch for this one, but I'm a bad scrapper and don't remember what site I got the sketch from! :(

The inspiration for this card came from an old issue of Cards. I *heart* that magazine!!

This one happened by accident. I had the bright idea that I was going to try to stamp on transparencies. It didn't go well...it didn't go well at all! I started to get really frustrated and ended up putting the idea aside for a while. I came back to it and started "practicing" on some scraps I had. This was the first image that I got to stamp clearly! Of course the biggest I could cut the scrap was a little less than 3 inches, but it works! I'll find something to use this card for! ;)

I used a sketch for this one too. It was a sketch from one of the ladies at another message board. She made great sketches...clean and simple...makes for some quick, cute pages! :)

A thank you card

This week I got a great package of goodies in the mail from one of my Paper Therapy friends. Kate was awesome and hosted a posting contest over there and I was the winner. Woo-hoo! Anyway, I couldn't wait to use my new goodies! And since I'm on this sketch challenge kick, I figured it was perfect timing! I used this sketch from Cardabilities. Cute, isn't it??

And here's what I came up with.

For once, things actually came together fairly well! Maybe it's a sign that I'm breaking out of my creative funk!! Anyway, I'm off to go hang out with the kiddo until bedtime and then back to scrapping!! :)

Trying something new

So I haven't been feeling very creative lately. I don't know why...maybe it's the weather...maybe I'm in a funk...I dunno. But whatever it is, I went on a mission to find some inspiration. I work best with sketches so I set out to look for some sketch challenges. I found Sassy Lil' Sketches. It's awesome...they have both a layout sketch site and a card sketch site! This is the sketch from their February 28th reveal.

And here's what I came up with.

I'm not quite sure how all this works just yet, but I know I have to have my stuff uploaded by Saturday, so here it is! I'm hoping to work on a few more things for both Sassy and another site I found. Hope everyone is having a super Friday!! :)

Well, today's challenge didn't turn out like I had hoped. I mean, I like the card I ended up making, but it's not what my original idea was. I'm still working on that one...it's just not going well!! I'm determined to get it right though!! ;) Anyway, today's challenge at Paper Therapy was to use the negative part of a die cut on your project. There are so many options for this!! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I hope everyone gets a chance to spend some time with their sweetie! Dave and I went out to a late lunch yesterday since he has to work today and Justin has an eye doc appt tonight. Anyway, it IS Monday, so there is another challenge posted at Paper Therapy. Today's challenge is to make a Valentine. Here's the one I made.

I also used it for my February card swap at Paper Therapy. The frog prince idea came from a card I saw somewhere, I'm just not sure where (bad scrapper, I know!) Happy Monday everyone! So glad for another week to start! Hopefully all the yucky weather and sickness is behind us! This week's challenge over at Paper Therapy is a color challenge. You need to use the following colors on your project. If you don't have the exact colors, just use something that's close.

Here's what I came up with. I know these colors would have been great to make a Valentine, but I needed a birthday card this week! And I really wanted to play with my new stamps from Papertrey Ink! :)

When a border punch...

is more than just a border punch! Happy Monday everyone! Today's challenge over at Paper Therapy is to use a border punch as something other than a border punch. When I first read this I was like WHAT?!?!? But after doing some searching on the internet, I figured it may not be so bad. Here's what I came up with.

I used my Threading Water punch for the flower and my Upper Crest punch to give some texture to the blue. Overall this was a true challenge for me and I like the way the end result turned out! Hi everyone and Happy Friday!! Welcome to the weekend and Kristin's Made With Heart Blog Hop! I am stop number 5. You should have arrived here from Paula's blog. So with Valentine's Day fast approaching (um, where did January go again?!?) we had to create some sort of Valentine's Day project. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to make and finally decided on altering some letters. Altering is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do!

The letters came from Hobby Lobby and I'm honestly not sure where the papers are from...just stuff that was in my stash! Same goes for the rest of the embellishments...all stash stuff!

Shape It Up

Happy Monday friends! This week's challenge at Paper Therapy was super fun!! We had to make a card that was NOT a square or rectangle!! This was something totally different for me but I loved it! I followed a tutorial at Lilsweetpea's Place on using Nestabilities to make shaped cards. I used my new scalloped octagon Nestie and this is what I came up with.

I can't wait to give it a try with some of the other shapes! We would love to see what shaped cards you can come up with. Submit them in our challenge forum so you can be this week's winner!!

A mid-week post

No, I promise I'm not sick! I'm posting mid-week because I'm SUPER excited about a blog hop that I'm participating in! It's my first one and I think it's going to be lots of fun! I know a few of the participants from Paper Therapy and the ladies do amazing work! Anyway, the hop runs from the 21-23rd. It's going to have a Valentine's Day theme! I can't wait!!

In the mean time, here are some of the things I've been up to lately. I had a scrappy coffee playdate with my friend Angie earlier this week and got a few cards started. I love the butterfly paper. So much fun. And I HAD to try out the Nestabilities that I got for Christmas. I LOVE 'em! They're so much fun to work with! Let's just say that there will be more in my future! ;)

I got these awesome mailboxes in the $1 spot at Target! They're perfect for altering to hold Valentine's Day goodies! I made one for Justin and one for each of my bestie's girls!

Another Challenge

Hello and Happy Monday!! Today's challenge over at Paper Therapy is a sketch challenge! Woo-hoo! These are my favorite!! :) Here's the sketch we got to work with.

And here's what I did with it. Not only was the card all scraps (except for the base) but I used my Cricut for something other than just letters!! I really need to get better about doing that! I got some really fun cartridges for Christmas, so I can't wait to figure them out!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a great holiday! The DT at Paper Therapy took last week off, but this week we're back in action! This week's Challenge was to CASE (copy and save everything) a project from your favorite designer. I know my CASE probably looks like I'm sucking up to the boss lady, but I promise I'm not! Hahaha! Every since my sister gave me the address to LilSweetPeas's Place I've been amazed by her awesome work! This week I CASE'd her paper bag purses. They're so cute and super fun to make!! Here's my take on it. I made two of them, one for each of my bestie's girls.

It's Christmas Week!!

Are you ready for Christmas?? I think I am. I still need to decide what I'm making for Christmas dinner and then go get it, but that shouldn't be too bad! All the gifts are bought and wrapped (except mine! Hubs better get on it! Haha!)

Anyway, it's Monday so there's another Challenge posted over at Paper Therapy. This week's challenge was to make a Christmas card or layout. I chose to do a layout. This was Justin's picture last year with Santa. I also included the letter he wrote to Santa and the letter Santa left him. Nothing very complicated, but I had some cute paper to work with so it didn't need a lot! ;)

Happy Monday!! It's time for another challenge at Paper Therapy. This week's challenge happens to be very appropriate for those of us in the Midwest...create a project with a snowflake on it! ;) Here's what I came up with...

Funny kid story to go along with this card...I embossed the white portion with my Cuttlebug to give it some fun, snowy texture. Justin ran his fingers over it when I was done and turned to me and said "Mommy, this feels like toilet paper!!" What?!?!? Where the heck do kids come up with these things?? He's such a silly boy!! Anyway, what better time to make a project with a snowflake on it? All of us over at Paper Therapy would love to see what you come up with!

Happy Monday everyone! Today's challenge over at Paper Therapy is a sketch challenge. These are my favorite kind!! I do so much better if I have a starting point! Anyway, here's the sketch. Cute, huh?? :)

And here's my take on it. I actually surprised myself and didn't follow the sketch as closely as I usually do! I do, however, see myself using this sketch a lot in the future.

I hope everyone had a super Thanksgiving! I did! Great times with family and friends, way too much good food, and definitely too much wine! Just ask mom!! ;) So how many of you have finished your Christmas shopping?? If so, I'm jealous! I haven't even started yet! *sigh* One of these years I'll get to Black Friday shop! Haha!

Anyway, it's Monday so there's another challenge posted over at Paper Therapy. This week's challenge was to create a project with a button and a bow. I kinda stretched the rules and used a knot instead of a bow! ;) I'm not good at tying bows and I DID get permission from the "boss" Kristin, sooo.... Anyway, here's the card that I came up with.

It's called a criss-cross card. I found the instructions online and attempted my first one at the retreat I went to in October. I love 'em! They're so cute and so easy to make!! Happy Monday! Today's challenge over at Paper Therapy was to create a project for a guy. For whatever reason, I really struggled with this! I'm such a nerd!! My kid is a boy!!! That's what all of my layouts are! Hahaha! Anyway, I guess I wasn't feeling a layout this week again so I went ahead and made a card.

I really love this dinosaur stamp! It's perfect for boy cards! I definitely see more of these lil cuties in my future!! Hahaha! I love that song! :) Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I did! I finally got a much needed haircut on Saturday and on Sunday a friend and I took the kiddos to Monkey Joe's! Such a good time!

Anyway...it's Monday so there's another challenge posted at Paper Therapy. Because Thanksgiving is FAST approaching, this week's challenge is to create a thank you card or an "I am thankful for" layout. I chose to go the card route again. These PT girls are a bad influence on me! ;) I've been making a lot more cards than layouts lately! I need to jump back on the layout bandwagon or I'll never be anywhere close to caught up! LOL!

A few things from the retreat

Ok, I know it's been over a week, but I finally got around to taking pictures of some of the stuff I did at the retreat last weekend. It was a GREAT time!! Getting to spend a whole weekend with my sister was awesome! It was way overdue!! We went for drinks on Friday night and spent all of Saturday and some of Sunday scrapping and just catching up! Kris was awesome too!! Such a sweetheart! :) Here are some of my favorites projects from the weekend.

Criss-Cross Card- This was for a challenge at the retreat to use at least 2 things from the goody bag we got.

Happy Monday everyone! I had such a great weekend scrapping with my sister and Kristin at our retreat! It was my first ever retreat and Michelle and I are already planning on going back in April (Kristin, you definitely need to come too!!) I promise I'll post pictures of what I did later. But before we talk about what I did this weekend.....

Today is the first challenge over at Paper Therapy! I'm so excited. The Design Team did a GREAT job. This week's challenge was a sketch (my favorite kind of challenge!!) and here's my take on it. I just love this lil monkey stamp! :)

Just two more days until I leave for my scrap retreat! I'm so excited! I get to spend a whole weekend scrapping with my sister and meet Kristin from Paper Therapy! Speaking of Paper Therapy, my first Design Team project is due on Friday! It's turned in (WOW! I really finished something EARLY?!?) and will be revealed on Monday! I'm so excited. Some of the other DT members have submitted their cards too and I'm gonna tell ya, it's some pretty cute stuff!! In the meantime, I did manage to create a Halloween card for PT's Card of the Month contest. I think it turned out pretty cute! ;)

Alright, that's all for now. I've got a tired soccer player who's ready for bed (even if he doesn't think so!) ;) I need to start packing!! UGH! Is it ok if I take ALL my stuff with me to the retreat?!?

A New Life

Thanks to Kristin and Stacey over at Paper Therapy, my blog is getting a new life! I have been selected as a member of their Design Team for the next 6 months! Woo-hoo!! I'm really excited! I've never applied for a DT before and when I saw the call for this one, I figured "what the heck?!" Nothing to lose, right? So for the next 6 months, I'll be posting at LEAST weekly! I can't wait for you to see the awesome challenges that Paper Therapy has planned!

Ok, so April 18th was my last blog post. Let's not talk about how that was like 4 months ago!! Life has been busy, I've become a Facebook addict, and well, really, I'm just a blog dork! I've spent the last month or so scrapping for other people and last night I actually did a layout for me!!! Woo-hoo!! Hopefully I'm getting some mojo back!

So my friend Jenny is on a Design Team for a fun new blog. It's called Candy Shoppe Designs. It looks like they're going to have tons of fun challenges (yay for motivation!!) and give away lots of really cool prizes! All you scrappy ladies should go check it out! C'mon! You know you want to! So here are the pictures of the things I did a while ago, that I said I would add forever ago! I'm so terrible about this! I mean, seriously...it takes 5 minutes to blog! I'm so lazy! :) Anyway, I think both projects turned out really cute! The expecting momma liked the baby book and Dave took the names to my sister in law today! Hope she likes them!

Not a whole lot going on around here. The weather has been nice the last few days and it's supposed to be nice again today. Dave is busy helping his sister move today, so I think I'm going to take Justin for a walk. Well...he'll ride his bike and I'll chase him! :) Maybe we'll go out to lunch too... Not that I need it! We went out to dinner last night for my birthday and I had a yummy dinner (with fries!), ice cream at Applebee's (Justin told the waitress it was my birthday...too cute!) and then we went for ice cream afterwards since I was the only one that got some at dinner....yes, I had ice cream there too! Oops! So much for that diet thing....calories consumed on your birthday don't count, right?!?! ;) Hopefully while Justin is napping I can get some scrappy stuff done! I have a layout that I started the other day and still haven't finished!! It's making me crazy! I hate having unfinished layouts laying around! Happy Saturday!!

This seems like such a long week! Maybe it's cause I know mom and dad are coming tomorrow...maybe cause the first few days of the week were so gloomy and cold...I dunno. Anyway I look at it, I'm ready for Friday!!

Nothing too exciting going on here. Did a little bit of Easter shopping this week...hope the Easter Bunny left a basket from last year in the attic...got my hair chopped :) made a baby shower gift for a friend...cyber shopped for treadmills...pretty boring! I think we're going to go get a new treadmill tomorrow. We've (ok, Dave) has been using ours quite a bit lately and it's been acting really crazy. He blew out the motor about a month ago and it just hasn't been the same since the replacement came. Dave was running this afternoon and the thing shut itself down on him for the last time!! He was running at 7.5 miles an hour and it just stopped (again!). Needless to say, the redneck came out in him and the busted up piece of crap is now in the back of his truck waiting to be taken to the dumpster at the fire station!!

I've been a bad scrapper lately and haven't done any layouts of Justin! I did make some letters for Cole and Calebs' rooms and a baby shower gift for a friend. I think they all turned out cute! I'll have to post them later cause Blogger is giving me a big ol' error message...nice!

So all my scrappy friends, what should I buy? My fantastical friend Carrie got me a gift card for Hobby Lobby cause I've been watching her girls on Thursday nights. As much as I would like a Big Bite, I'm not sure I would use it enough to want to spend the money on it. Same goes for alcohol inks. I think they look cool, but I've never done them before. Whatcha think??

The instructions are really confusing and it's much easier when you SEE it done (this is a great video by Dawn). Once you get the hang of it, it's so much fun to make!!

I did these all last weekend when Dave was out of town but have been too lazy to post them. Pathetic, huh? Oh well...better late than never!

This was a sketch from scrapchallenge.com. The American Cutie tag and the fireworks tag were from a swap I was in. I just altered them a little to make them exactly what I wanted.

Dave is out of town again this weekend so I was scrappy last night too. I made a card and a tag. Nothing too exciting. Well, the card is exciting...I LOVE it! It's called a waterfall card. I haven't taken a picture yet, so maybe I'll get around to posting it NEXT weekend! ;) I also started working on some altered wooden letters for my nephews' rooms. I'm really excited and hope they turn out cute!!

Well, it's that time of year again...fire school. Dave left yesterday afternoon and will be gone till sometime Sunday. That means 2 nights of uninterrupted scrap time (once Justin falls asleep!) So last night I worked on a LO that's good for three different "places". It counts for a challenge on my message board, it's a sketch from Blueprint Sketches, and was used as an "inspiration" at Daily Inspirations on March 18th! Yay! And I even like the way it turned out!!

It was such a beautiful day today! Gotta love 70 degree temps in March! Hopefully this nice-ness will stick around! Anyway, I've been waiting for a nice day to take Justin to Morrow's Meadows to ride his new bike...today was perfect! There were so many people out and Justin LOVED riding like a big kid!! He chased Steven around the whole walking trail. He had to pedal so fast to keep up...too cute!! Of course we didn't make it more than one lap...Justin saw the park...but that's ok. Spring has officially started for my little man!

Ok, so I went out last night to Puerto Vallarta for Amanda's unconventional bachelorette party. Fun times! Not so fun when I got on the scale this morning! Who knew that one measly little strawberry margarita would make you gain 2 pounds?!? I'm sure the chicken sammich I had for lunch and the taco salad and chips I had for dinner didn't exactly help either! :o Oh well, Amanda is worth it! :) I worked out extra hard to make up for it today!

Not too much new here...we're kinda boring! Justin is getting better with the potty training...thank goodness! I'm finally starting to believe those that promise me that he won't go to kindergarten in a pull-up! :)

It's been a while again!

Yeah, yeah, I'm a terrible blogger! Not much going on here lately. My computer took a poop a week ago today and my awesome husband bought me a new one!! I'm still trying to figure it out since neither one of us knows Vista. Let's just say it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to print something last week! I'm such a dork!

My message board had an online crop this weekend. I've gotten 3 LO's done for it sofar. The deadline is tomorrow at midnight, so hopefully I'll get another one done. I'll post pictures of them later...when I'm sure I'm all done with all the challenges I'm going to do.

Carribean Cove

Since last Friday was Justin's birthday, we decided to take him to Carribean Cove Indoor Water Park. It's at the Holiday Inn down in Indy and it was so much fun!! Justin had a blast! He's still not a big fan of water in his face, but I think the more we get him in the water, the better it will be.

He LOVED jumping off the side of the pool and having Daddy catch him!!

And when things got too cold in the regular pool, Justin asked to go to the "warm pool!"

Of course we had to play in the arcade!!

There was a putting green in the area with the hotel's regular pool. Our room was in the balcony just above this and you could access it right through the sliding glass door in our room. Too cool!

We started off the day by going to Olive Garden. Dave told the waiter it was Justin's birthday and asked if they could have a few people come sing to him...it didn't happen...the service was terrible! But NEVER fear....Daddy went to the restaurant in the hotel and they hooked Justin up with a cookie sundae! YUM!

Overall, it was a great time! Justin was still too small for the slides, but hopefully next time we go back he'll be big enough. I tried going down one of them and it was a lot of fun!!

Ok, so since I was such a bad blogger and didn't post in forever, here come all the pics at once! Justin refused to sit on Santa's lap at the mall, but Daddy convinced him to get close enough for a picture at the Luminary Festival. Notice the lovely lines in the picture?!? Nice huh? Mommy and Daddy Santa better take notice...your favorite oldest daughter NEEDS that new camera! ;) Love you!!

Here are the boxes I altered for my Grandma's for Christmas. I think they turned out really cute. Thanks for the pink flowers, Mandie!! I filled them with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and chocolate covered cherries! YUM!

I also made frames that match the boxes. They turned out really cute too! And don't tell, but I did one of them upside down! Oops! I had to have Dave redrill the hole for the stick stand thingy before I wrapped it! :)

So that about sums up life lately. I'm still working on wrapping presents. I really need to run out to get more wrapping paper, but the roads are so crappy from the ice we got yesterday. I think it'll wait till at least tomorrow! ;)

Ok, so I know I've been a terrible blogger lately! I honestly haven't even been at my computer much. As always, Christmas shopping got put off and put off and now it's a rush to get it all bought, wrapped, blah, blah, blah. There are still a few more things I need to get, but it'll all get got! :)

Things have been crazy around here. Justin got a touch of a stomach bug so that made for an interesting few days. Needless to say, potty training went by the wayside and it's been too nutty lately to get back into it. I really want him trained by his birthday so I'm gonna have to do boot camp after Christmas! Saturday was a crazy busy day! We went to get remote start installed on the Expedition. It was my Christmas present from Dave. I LOVE it! It's definitely been cold enough to use it these past few days! Since Justin was staying with Carrie, Dave and I went and told Santa what Justin wanted for Christmas. Hopefully he'll bring it all! ;) Then we went and watched the Luminary Festival parade and I was able to get a picture of Justin with Santa. He's not on his lap and daddy is in the picture too, but Justin is NOT crying! Then we went to Amanda and Marv's for our "Christmas party" They're awesome and got Justin a Diego Christmas movie, a huge Thomas coloring book and some crayons. He loves it!! Sunday, Carrie and I made 3 kinds of cookies, fudge, and carmel corn! YUM! So is that an ok excuse for not blogging recently?!?

I have lots of pics still sitting on my camera to upload. Hopefully I'll get around to that tonight while Dave and Robbie are watching the football game. If not, I promise I'll do it soon. I've got pics of the Christmas stuff I finally finished for my Grandma's and Justin with Santa.

It's been a long day! I did get to do a little bit of scrapping this afternoon and I hope to finish what I started tonight. I'm altering these cute boxes for both my grandma's for Christmas. I'm hoping to fill them with those little coffee "samples," hot chocolate, tea and that kind of stuff. I think I might try altering a frame to go in there too. We'll see what I end up having time for! :)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was wonderful! Great food, time with family, great food... :)

So yesterday, Dave took a vacation day and we spent the day as a family. Good times!! We went to lunch and then to Menards (cause heaven forbid we don't get some new decorations!!) For once, Dave didn't go too crazy. We just got 2 new small blow up things for the yard (cause we thought our big snowman was done) and a new big plastic Santa (our old one was VERY worn out!) Three trips to Menards later, the yard was finished! Why is it that you can never get all you need in the first trip?? I think the yard looks good this year - bright, but not Griswald-ish!

Today, we took Justin to cut down his first real Christmas tree. I'm usually a big fan of the fake tree (less mess and a lot less hassle) but for some unknown reason (it might have been the scrapping bug) the fake tree was NOT going to do this year! I was on a mission to let Justin cut down a tree. He was so cute! He insisted on bringing his own saw and wanted to cut down all the little trees he could get to. After about an hour (ok...maybe almost an hour and a half) I finally decided on a tree I liked and Dave and Justin got it cut down. It's currently sitting on the front porch waiting for Dave to come home and move furniture around so it can have it's own place in the living room. I can't wait to let Justin help me decorate it!

So tonight I scrapped a LO in a HOUR! Can you believe it?!? I barely can! Creative Scrappers had a 1 hour sketch contest tonight. I didn't win, but it was a great sketch and I got a LO done that I actually like! It was a win-win situation! This is Justin and my dad fishing at the lake house this past July. I love this picture!

Well, I think it's time for me to get my booty to bed! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and don't eat too much turkey!! :)

The Ball State game JUST started. They're playing Western Michigan at home tonight. Good luck Cardinals!!

Life has been pretty uneventful. I've actually gotten some scrapping done lately! Yay me!! :)

This is my first attempt at machine stitching on a layout. I like the look, but was disappointed on how much it didn't show up. I think it was a mix of the colors of thread and cardstock and the cardstock being textured. Oh well, I'll just have to keep playing! :)

I really like the way this one turned out. The solid circles and the stars are on chipboard so there's dimension to the layout.

These are some of my all time favorite pictures of Dave and Justin. I was really leary to scrap this page cause I wanted it to be "just right". I'm not sure what "just right" is, but I really like the way this turned out. The journaling is hidden on a tag behind the big picture and talks about how Justin is growing up so quickly...and how he called Daddy his best friend this past weekend. Awww!

Ok, off to go watch the game and find something for dinner. I've also altered a paint can for my secret sis, but I don't have pictures of it yet. I hate the way pictures turn out in the house and the weather has been miserable. Hopefully if mom and dad get me a new camera for Christmas (HINT HINT!!!) pictures inside will be better.

Ok, so I've been waiting FOREVER for this robe to fit Justin. When my German exchange student from high school came to visit 2 years ago, this was her gift for him. It's got a cute giraffe and his name embroidered on it. It's still kinda big, but he likes it cause "it keeps me warm, Mommy!"

Whelp, summer is OFFICIALLY over! It snowed for the first time this year. I tried to take Justin outside to catch snowflakes on his tongue, but he wouldn't do it...the lil' booger!! This morning when we woke up, it was actually cold enough that the snow we got overnight stuck! Not much, but the deck definitely had snow on it when I went to let the dogs out!! I thought it was kinda cool, but Dave, not so much! The fire department got called out to two accidents in the middle of the night. HELLO PEOPLE!!! You live in Indiana!! Snow is NOT a new thing! They weren't bad accidents, in fact, I think the FD got disregarded, but sheesh!!

Oh yeah, and I'm a bad blogger! Deann passed on the fantastic bloggy award last week, and I snagged it, but completely forgot to pass it on! Jenny B, come snag the fun "award" for your blog!!

Justin is getting restless so I guess I better get back to playing mom. We need to run to the store to get Dave a CD, but I just wanna stay inside with a hot cup of coffee...maybe Starbucks will have to be on the way to Best Buy! :)

I NEVER, in a million years, would have thougth that Ball State football would actually have a winning record! And for them to be 10-0?!? WOW! Makes me kinda proud to be an alum! I think I saw BSU win one game the whole time I was a student and, boy oh boy, what an experience that was! After the win the fans rushed the field, tore down the goal post, carried it down the street, and threw it in the Duck Pond! Crazy!! GO CARDS!!

So the latest on the fire from Saturday...arson...that's never any good. Makes it kind of scary to be a firefighter's wife when there is the possibility of an arsonist around. There have been 4 other fires in Muncie that have been ruled arson as well. Hopefully the state fire marshall has some leads and this craziness will be over soon, without any other injuries!!

On a happier note, Dave taught class tonight and I got to see a ladder bail for the first time! Not sure when a firefighter would have to use it, but it looks neat! And no one fell off the roof, so that's always a good sign. Maybe it's cause they have a good instructor. *wink wink* :)

Gotta love the weather in the mid-west. I thought it was supposed to be a lil' decent out today. Um, NO! It's cold and windy and starting to sprinkle! BOO!!

I guess I shouldn't complain though. I've been in a warm house all day and poor Dave has been out at a fire scene for most it. One of the Christian schools right by the house caught fire this morning around 2:30. Dave was home for about 2 hours to get in a small nap before they got called out again. I guess the ATF (alcohol, tobacco, and firearms) has to investigate the fire and there has to be fire personnel on the scene the entire time. I brought the guys coffee and pop and sheesh, it's cold out there!! My hat goes off to all the guys out there freezing their buns off! Everyday (well, almost everyday!) the volunteers go out there and selflessly serve the community and I really don't think they get the appreciation they deserve!

BUT...with Dave being gone all day, I haven't felt bad fitting in a little bit of scrapping! I finished the clipboard for Caleb and Cole. I think it turned out pretty cute.

I hope so. I'm tired of all this crazy weather. Make up your mind, Mother Nature. Is it going to be 70 or 40?!? I'm ready for fall...jeans and sweatshirts...what's better than that?? :)

I stayed up way too late last night working on a Christmas countdown clipboard for my favorite nephews...and it's not even done yet! All the parts and pieces are ready to go, now it's just a matter of assembling it. I think it's turning out cute. Especially for my first attempt! Hopefully I'll get a chance to put it together later today. I do need to run to the store and get some washers and a roll of magnet tape, but that's no biggie.

I guess I should get my booty off the computer and get going. Hopefully I'll be back later to post pictures of my finished clipboard!!

It's Tuesday...it's Election Day! YAY! That means all this TV interruption will be over soon!! I can't wait!

The Colts game on Sunday was lots of fun. The new stadium is HUGE and it's really nice. The pictures I took really don't do it justice, especially since I'm such a terrible photographer....maybe one day I'll take photography lessons..that would be fun, don't ya think?? Ok, that was my random thought for the day. ;)

Can you tell I'm excited?!? The Colts play the Patriots tonight and we're going to the game with Dave's friend Robbie and his "ladyfriend" Kim! It's supposed to be a surprise for Robbie, but I think the lil' booger has figured it out. We're trying to convince him that we're going to see Phantom of the Opera but I don't think it's working. :( Either way, it's going to be a lot of fun! Hopefully I'll get to take some good pictures of the new stadium and I'll post them later.
